Last week’s top-sellers are up! Still another new number one record this week with Big Thief’s Two Hands swiping the top spot. It’s the bands second excellent record of 2019 following Spring’s UFOF. This one is a straight forward indie-rock record of the finest variety, great songs, great sound. These guys have been in our in-shop heavy rotation since we first heard Masterpiece, so we’re thrilled to see this one selling!
Also we gotta recognize our #2 record this week as locals Chris King & The Gutterballs have had a great week with their new LP Pain Waves. The roots rock group graced our stage last Thursday for a free in-store performance to celebrate the release of their first proper full-length. Recommended for those looking for some homegrown and lonesome sounding Americana tinged rock-n-roll.
This week also sees the return of Kim Gordon! No Home Record is, after an illustrious career full of collaboration, her first record solely under her own moniker. Always flirting with the avante-garde, she’s not just rehashing Sonic Youth sounds here. It’s thoroughly modern bold and inventive music, we’d expect no less.
