FFO: Bouncy party punk and a tall glass of Bud Dry
What they say: Whatever perceived shortcomings the songs may have lyrically, they more than make up for by the fast paced energy they collectively exude. By keeping the song writing model simple and straightforward, the Donnas afford themselves the opportunity to add the right amount of hooks and riffs to solidify their musical credibility. The album rocks from start to finish, with no break in the action, resulting in a very listener friendly and satisfying major label debut. - PopMatters (2003 Review)
What we say: It seems we’re in the midst of re-examining some of the early 00’s feminine pop culture (looking at you, Josie and the Pussycats screening at SIFF next week) so why don’t we give The Donnas fifth studio album and major label debut another chance? This is early 00’s power pop at it’s slickest made by the coolest chicks around. I believe this album stands the test of time, especially if you’re just trying to be a girl cruising around the world! - K
