Our weekly top-ten best-seller chart is up! We’ve got a blast from the past in the top-slot this week! DAFT PUNK is back at number-one with a restock of 2001’s Discovery. It was the duo’s second full-length and perhaps the one that cemented their legendary status as some of the twenty-first century’s most influential electronic musicians. Give it a spin one more time!
We also had a listening-party / presale event last week to celebrate the release of ALDOUS HARDING’s Warm Chris. The New Zealand singer-songwriter has a few excellent psych-folk type records under her belt and the latest is so far a critical darling! (BEST NEW MUSIC at Pitchfork for example.) Recommended for fans of thoughtful and spare sounds.
And DESTROYER is back with a new record this week as well, managing to be the only additional new release to score a top-ten placement. Labyrinthitis is the title of the latest and finds Dan Bejar’s band further exploring disco-esque groves, studio polish, and cryptic lyricism. Great as always!
