Our first weekly top-ten best-seller chart for 2022 is up! The week after Christmas is always an odd one, many gift-certificates getting spent, many collections getting started. As you can see, our top-ten is loaded with classics suitable for starting a record collection (both millennial and boomer) and RADIOHEAD’s much loved 2007 record In Rainbows managed a rare number-one placement for an older album. This was a game changer on release, as it was a pay-what-you-will download, but it has also remained essential on LP for well over a decade.
We’ve also got the latest from NEIL YOUNG & CRAZY HORSE making it’s first appearance at number seven a few weeks beyond it’s initial release. Barn is Neil’s 14th proper record with the always charmingly loose Crazy Horse, and finds the group ready to rock out in their quintessential style. It’s got real old man rocker energy, and we mean that in the nicest way possible.
And KID CUDI has this week’s only truly new new-release charting all the way down at number ten. Man on the Moon III: The Chosen completes a trilogy of albums begun all the way back in 2009 with his debut record. The epic record is broken up into four acts, but there is top-level production and a consistent mood throughout.
