For fans of: Soft Punk / Sincere Songwriting
What they're saying: Melted Magazine’s Georgia Cole had this to say of Indigo De Souza’s debut: “ranging from garage punk and pop, to more intimate and acoustic styles, Indigo De Souza has swept the Asheville music scene with eloquence, and has created an intimate soft-punk experience within I Love My Mom” Pitchfork described the singer-songwriter as an “undeniable force, divulging her restless thoughts through folksy garage-pop” and called I Love My Mom “imperfect, unabashed, and endearing.” And in a prescient review at the Mecca Lecca blog, reviewer Jonny Leather says the 2018 record “could end up being an indie hit if the right people hear it.” Now a few years later it is reissued by the esteemed Saddle Creek label.
What we say: I drove around listening to this record for a whole month straight and I'm still not sick of it. This reissue is out via Saddle Creek ahead of the new album Any Shape You Take due 8/27. -K
