For fans of: The Songs of Tom Petty
What they're saying: The Rock Club blog had this to say of what was originally heard as a pandemic live-stream: “What we got was Lucinda and an excellent band playing live in the Room and Board studio in Nashville… Her voice is remarkably suited to [Petty’s] repertoire. Full marks to the fabulous band that made this all the more a joy to watch.“ A Mark Deming review at AllMusic finds this records spark in the shared Southerness of the singer and songwriter: “Runnin' Down a Dream: A Tribute to Tom Petty is long on songs about Southern life… It's on these songs that she seems most committed, with a sense of shared experience informing her vocals and adding depth to her delivery.”
What we say: This live LP has been one of our staff favorites so far this year. Great performances of great songs. Lucinda does justice to this material by a much missed artist. Some of the lesser known tunes really shine here too.
