New week’s charts are up! Taylor is back on top with Folklore, no surprise there! We’ve had a few late batches of indie-exclusive Swift signed CDs fueling the record’s stay atop our charts. Will more signed CDs arrive? Who knows! Stay tuned! Elsewhere in our top-ten we’ve got a mix of old favorites, RSD leftovers, and new sounds rounding out our list.
Down at number six is a record we may have expected to chart higher, but the music industry can be weird in 2020! Store favorite Angel Olsen has a new record, the stripped down companion piece to All Mirrors, titled Whole New Mess. Lots of tracks are shared between the two records, but WNM is decidedly more hushed, though having it’s own intensity. Also, NW connection, recorded in Anacortes!
Also, Touch & Go Records was able to scrounge up a few alternate takes from Slint’s masterpiece Spiderland to release as a 12” EP for Record Store Day this year. Enough survived the initial madness of RSD to land at number three in our charts one week later. Obsessives are rewarded here, as these guys left behind so few recordings, we’ll take any little bit of fresh sound we can get! (Supply may be limited, call!)
