We’ve got a brand new number-one on our latest Top-Sellers charts this week. Tame Impala’s The Slow Rush, the follow-up to 2015’s smash Currents, had an amazing first week out. Kevin Parker has followed his muse further out on the same trajectory he’s been on with a highly satisfying and polished new record. Tame Impala continues to mystically fuse past and present, The Guardian goes as far as to describe the new record as a “thoughtful amalgam of Supertramp and the Weeknd.”
What else is new on our charts? Tennis is back with their latest LP Swimmer at number five. This is their follow up to 2017’s Yours Conditionally which was a big hit here at the shop. The married indie-pop duo still sound wistful and thoughtful making beautiful music for the romantic at heart.
Eccentric singer-songwriter Torres is in at number ten with her new record Silver Tongue. The self produced record might be her most accessible work to date but doesn’t lose any of the highly worthwhile odd edges. If you want to get to know the singer and story, here is a great interview from NPR.
