December is rolling along, and we’ve got a full week’s worth of holiday sales tabulated to our weekly top-ten. A Charlie Brown Christmas from the VINCE GUARALDI TRIO continues its strong grip on the number one spot. No doubt this one rules our charts every holiday season. We still have a few copies around if you haven’t gotten one yet, it always sells out by Christmas!
We also finally got copies of the new Greatest Hits collection from THE WHITE STRIPES! The record had a strong first week pulling in at number two in our weekly chart. The Third Man Records collection is bucking the trends of the playlist / digital era as always, and came away with a great introduction to the great turn-of-the-century rockers. Great gift too.
Also, STURGILL SIMPSON is back and has a new one in the charts too. Cuttin’ Grass V. 1 finds Sturgill delving into bluegrass sounds. Here he’s trying on this new approach on some older favorites. We’ve got to say, it sounds right! Word is Vol. 2 is due in stores real soon too.
