Charts Recap: January 20th -26th, 2020

It finally feels like 2020 is getting into full-swing and our weekly best-seller charts are starting to show it. Three new 2020 records popped into our chat this week. One is the triumphant return of Wolf Parade, their latest record Thin Mind is our runaway number one this week! We were lucky enough to host a performance from the band at our shop this past weekend and it was a packed house. Even though they’ve been away for years their latest shows they haven’t lost any of the magic.

Also new to our charts is the self-titled debut record from Bonny Light Horseman. For those unfamiliar, they are a supergroup of sorts. The band is the vehicle for Anais Mitchell, Eric Johnson of The Fruit Bats, and Josh Kaufman to explore a folky range of sounds, including traditional tunes and originals.

The last new-release to crack our charts is The Neon Skyline from songwriter Andy Shauf. It’s a conceptual experiment of sorts with the whole album written around the story of a single night out at the bar. The result is a great laid-back folk-rock record full of conversational introspection.
