Charts Recap: August 19th - 25th, 2019

Check it out, we’ve got another week’s best-sellers tabulated! Last week’s top-sellers/indie-rock legends Sleater Kinney and Ride continue to hang in our charts but have been bumped out of the top spot by upstart local punk trio Sleepover Club!! W(PH)OOPSIE is the latest dispatch from the Everett rockers out now from the always excellent Youth Riot Records. If you want to get familiar with we’re Sleepover Club are coming from, we got to talk records last week in our First, Last, and Favorite column here.

Another new record making a high entry into our charts is Anak Ko from LA indie artist Jay Som. Her latest has upped the production values and smoothed out the sounds making for an immersive sophisticated pop record. It really nails a vibe, give a listen.

We’ve also got back copies of a few of our favorite oddball reissues of the year so far! Rupa’s Disco Jazz, neither really disco or jazz, has been repressed. We staff-picked it here. Plantasia, the soundscape composed for plants, from electronic music pioneer Mort Garson is back in print too. Both charting well!
