We’ve got lots of new record covers on our latest mid-August Top-Seller charts! It’s a split decision atop the charts this round with Ride number one on vinyl and Sleater Kinney as our most popular CD. The latest Ride record finds the band in an inventive mood. You get to hear a band tweaking their trademark shoegaze sounds throughout This Is Not A Safe Place, and it sounds a lot like a band enjoying their second life.
Sleater Kinney is also entering a second life of sorts with their latest. The Center Won’t Hold finds the band playing with a new sound, new sheen, new label, and new collaborators (including producer St. Vincent). We wouldn’t be surprised if this stays in our charts a good long while.
Elsewhere we’ve got a new Oh Sees CD (vinyl soon we promise), another King Gizzard & Lizard Wizard record, but lets focus in on hot new locals The Black Tones. Cobain & Cornbread is their latest project and it managed to sneak into both our CD and Vinyl charts. The duo deals in powerfully primal bluesed up rock & roll.
