Charts Recap: November 11th - 17th, 2019

Another week means another best-seller chart and thought most of last week’s top-ten carried over we do have a new champion to crown. FKA Twigs masterful Magdalene is our new number one, bumping last week’s number one Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds down to number three. Magdalene, if you haven’t heard it, finds the artist formerly known as Twigs continuing to innovate on record. Hear the continuing evolution of the pop zeitgeist on this one.

Now for something completely different. There’s a new Blood Incantation! It’s number 5 this week. Hidden History of the Human Race is another excellent blast of the late-teens death metal renaissance. This record is a rush, totally break-neck and sharply played. Very fresh, very fun, and might end up ranking amongst the best metal records of the year.

Also, we got a bunch of rad and rare sessions from the excellent Warp Records on 12” this past week in commemoration of their 30th year of pioneering adventerous sounds in electronic music and beyond. One of these snuck into our top-ten with the Boards Of Canada Peel Session at number 8. Recorded in the groups late-90s super-chill heyday, this limited gem probably won’t hang around forever. Listen!
