Another week’s worth of top sellers are in the books! Kurt Vile’s crashing the top-tens on his first week with a new record, the dreamy Bottle It In. We were early adopters on Kurt, been pushing his wares since Constant Hitmaker was out as a slim CD. A decade later we’re still here for it! It’s been rad to be able to listen as an artist develops, let’s hope for another decade of great records!
C’est La Vie from Phosphorescent is going strong in its second week too! Number two in vinyl and number one on CD! Another artist we’ve been digging for years, speaking of. It’s another strong, but much more personal feeling record. I imagine this will be hanging in our charts for a good long while.
Elsewhere we’ve got a strong showing from the vanguard of a new generation of Japanese psychedelia, Kikagaku Moyo, making a strong showing. 2016’s House In The Tall Grass hit our ears hard when it landed at the store, and we’re stoked they’re back with a new record, Masana Temples, ranging from freaky rave-ups to pastoral drifting folk. These guys are on top of their game.
Shoutouts to Prince, Twenty-One Pilots, and Cat Power for making both top-tens. Check out who fills out the rest of the charts:
