Charts Recap for November 29th - December 5th, 2021
Our first top-ten best-seller chart of December is up, and like clockwork we’ve got the VINCE GUARALDI TRIO at number one with the unbeatable holiday classic A Charlie Brown Christmas. It’s got it all: nostalgic, classy, cross-generational, upbeat, not played-out, and it is great music! The soundtrack was originally released in 1965, but has managed to be our December best-seller many years running!
Also, Beatlemania is back, though with a milder strain. THE BEATLES are at number-three with the recently reissued and revamped Let It Be. Surely interest in this record is partly fueled by the Get Back documentary that has been showing. The story behind the band’s swan song is almost as compelling as the music itself.
And as you’ll surely notice, Christmas season is in full swing at our shop. Holiday records are occupying half the top-ten, and we had a few more that made it close. As with every year, we try to keep a quality holiday section stocked up throughout the season, but it gets picked over. Come on in for your Christmas music needs before its too late!
