Charts Recap for November 15th - 21st, 2021
We’ve got a fresh weekly top-ten best-sellers chart up! And there is a duel of the international pop stars at the top of the charts with ADELE edging out last weeks best-seller from Taylor Swift to place her new record 30 at number-one! The UK singer’s fourth album has been impressing both the masses and the critics, with Rolling Stone even calling it her “best yet”. We expect this one to be a chart dominator both at our shop and across the globe.
Though Adele isn’t the only global superstar with a new record in our charts this week, though the other one is considerably more low key. ROBERT PLANT has rejoined his very fruitful collaboration with ALISON KRAUSS with the duo’s latest LP Raise The Roof. The two singers duet over a widely varied collection of cover songs on this one. Their voices make for a lovely mix as always.
And our highest charting new reissue this week is the latest in the insane run of excellent reissue and archival releases that Blue Note has offered so far this year. The Big Beat by ART BLAKEY and his Jazz Messengers is up at number ten this week. The record was originally released in 1960 and could be said to be the early prime of the drummer virtuoso and his ensemble.
