Charts Recap for September 27th - October 3rd, 2021
A new weekly top-ten best-seller chart is up at our site! Lots of freshly released records showing up this week. One such new record is our new number-one! TONY BENNETT & LADY GAGA have linked back up for their second collaborative full length Love For Sale. The unlikely duo haven’t messed with their winning formula from 2014’s Cheek To Cheek, largely duetting on old school crooner jazz standards, though this go around though they focused in on the compositions of Cole Porter. Classic.
Hot on the heels of Love For Sale we’ve got one of our finer homegrown northwestern talents with BRANDI CARLILE and her latest record In These Silent Days. This is her first follow-up to 2018’s Grammy-winning By The Way, I Forgive You and her seventh record in total. On her latest expect her excellent voice rising to the occasion of a particularly high-drama set of compositions. She sounds ready for her higher stature.
Also we’ve got another edition of the now expansive NEIL YOUNG archives arriving in the top-ten at number four. Well, technically, with this release we’ve now moved into the “Official Bootleg” section of the archive. The release is Carnegie Hall 1970, a stripped down live set from early in the songwriters solo career sleeved in a classic bootleg-style motif. This is a solo acoustic affair, and well worth a listen.
