Our weekly top-ten best-seller chart is up, and what a total shake up we have this week! Only one record from last week managed to stick around with previous number-one Brandi Carlile dropping to number-four. Our new chart topper is Sympathy For Life the latest LP from PARQUET COURTS! Their post-pandemic burst is as full of energy as you could hope from the reigning kings of NY underground rock. The band sounds sharp as ever, even danceable, and their lyrical acumen is undiminished. Give a listen!

A little bit of local music history is showing up in our charts at number three. JOHN COLTRANE’s long lost live album A Love Supreme: Live in Seattle has finally been officially released by Impulse. The 1965 performance is hot on the heels of the record with which it shares a title. And it was captured right here at Seattle’s Penthouse jazz club. This is the artist in prime form, stretching out and forging new possibilities in sound.

And in another quasi-local note, ex-Seattleites LA LUZ have put out there first new record in a minute, and it has managed a number-five chart placement on its first week out. The self-titled fourth full-length record from the group is a step up from the band, refining their already one-of-a-kind sound. Noteworthy is that it is their first collaboration with producer Adrian Younge who has a stellar catalog of jazz and neo-soul to his own name.
