Charts Recap: August 23rd - 29th, 2020
We’ve got a new top-ten up after a wild week at the shop. Record Store Day this year went weird thanks to COVID and our little global lock down. Nonetheless, the show must go on! This past week we were able to finally roll out all our rescheduled RSD exclusive titles for a late but still great Record Store Day. Naturally the RSD exclusives are dominating this weeks charts, with Tyler The Creator taking the top-spot. Lots of stuff is SOLD-OUT, give us a call if you want to check up on a title.
Unbelievably a few non-RSD titles were able to contend with the exclusives and land in our top-ten this week. Much respect to Taylor Swift and Phoebe Bridgers for getting chart spots with Folklore and Punisher respectively. A few extra indie exclusive signed T. Swift CDs helped fuel the sales of Folklore, but those are gone now. And Punisher just rules, so it keeps selling!
Speaking of ruling, Florida rapper Denzel Curry recently covered Rage Against The Machine’s ‘Bulls On Parade’, and this version was pressed onto an RSD exclusive single. One of the rare 7” records to land in our charts, so we must recognize.
