Charts Recap: November 1st - 7th, 2020
We’ve spent all weekend carefully counting and recounting our sales for the first week November, and we’ve seen enough. We’re ready to call Punisher from PHOEBE BRIDGERS as our next best-seller of the week! The mid-summer release has been percolating in our charts for months now, and this isn’t its first time in the top spot. Punisher might just be a contender for our yearly best-seller in 2020, and deservedly so, as its one of the best records of the year too.
The 50th anniversary reissue of THE GRATEFUL DEAD’s American Beauty managed to land in the number two spot this past week. Its a bit more psych-folk than jam-band, and remains perhaps the best entry point into the legendary group’s sprawling back catalog. One of their finest moments too. This particular deluxe reissue does come along with some of those sweet live jams though!
The latest record from contemporary shoegaze masters NOTHING also managed to sneak into our charts this week, landing at the number nine spot. Great Dismal, their fifth full-length, retains the band’s dark sonic tinge and sounds really good really loud. It’s must listen material for fans of the genre.
