Staff Picks: Electronic System - Tchip Tchip
For fans of: Seventies Synthesizer Obscurities
What they're saying: Here’s the always discerning Aquarium Drunkard blog praising Tchip Tchip’s standout track ‘Skylab’: “Moody, nuanced and atmospheric, the composition evokes an era-appropriate futurism. Dim the lights, press play, and hear why.” From The Second Disc blog’s profile on Electronic Systems’s guiding force, Daniel Lacksman: “Lacksman [is] utilizing his considerable skills in electronics and music to deliver material that was both innovative and, unlike the music of some of his peers, instantly accessible.”
What we say: Very fine slab of 1974 vintage Moog cheese. Much of the LP has a very retro appeal, analog synths in the lounge, but ‘Skylab’ is one of those singular electronic journeys that sounds totally timeless and cosmic.
