Charts Recap: November 8th - 14th, 2020
Another week is in the books and we’ve got our new weekly top-ten up on the site. Last weeks top record, Punisher, slid to number eight, and we have a brand new release as our new number one. CHRIS STAPLETON is back with Starting Over, his fourth full-length. It’s more of that same from-the-heart songwriting that is the artist’s main staple. Recorded at Muscle Shoals, so you know that the sound is classic. Certainly one of the best artists working within present day Nashville Country.
The reissue industry continues cooking in 2020, with a raft of long out-of-print LPs hanging in our top-ten. We’ve got ALICE IN CHAINS, PEARL JAM, LAURYN HILL, and DAVID BOWIE’s Metrobolist all in this week’s list. Metrobolist, for the unaware, is the original working title for The Man Who Sold The World from 1971. This reissue sees the the album retooled to how it was originally conceived, as its been repackaged countless times since its original release.
What else is new? AESOP ROCK is back! His latest is called Spirit World Field Guide. The record is a vehicle for the rapper to apply his recent storytelling style to a conceptual alternate universe. Fun! He sounds energized on this one. If you really feel like immersing yourself check out this profile in Flood Magazine.
