Staff Picks: Pile - Green And Gray

For fans of: Ambitious and loud rock music with some grit.

What they're saying: The (very excellent) Post-Trash blog gushes about Green & Gray while declaring “Simply put, this is Pile’s best album to date.“ Pitchfork praises the records fine-tuned mix of ferocity and complexity in their review.

What we say: Boston-by-way-of-Nashville indie cult heroes Pile have another slapper on their hands. G&G continues down the road of expansive arrangements tracked by 2017’s A Hairshirt Of Purpose, focusing less on riff-centric material and leaning more towards the orchestral. Political, angsty, and cinematic, it’s definitely worth your time. - MS
