Charts Recap: April 22nd - 28th, 2019
We’re easing out of our post-RSD hangover with our first top-ten in a while with no RSD releases hanging around our charts. And OMG, we’ve got a new vinyl number one! Oh My God, Kevin Morby’s latest record, is in-stock and it’s great! The songwriting is exploring some more spiritual ground here. Give it a listen if you ain’t already.
Budos Band is hot on the heels at number 2 and is atop the the CD charts, but we gave them some shine in last weeks charts column. There is other action in our charts however. King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard have still another new record (they had five in 2017!) and this one is really well rounded, and actually quite accessible for those new to the Gizz (and lizz-wizz).
Also the new Cage The Elephant record has now arrived in both of our charts. (Despite arriving just a little late to our shop…) The twenty-first century alternative rock stars has delivered what is perhaps their most diverse record of their career. I’ll leave the single here for you to check in on.
