Charts Recap: November 18th - 24th, 2019
A new best-seller chart is up, and you can tell the changing of the season by our first Christmas record appearing in the charts! Four returning records from last weeks charts are shuffled up with Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds’ masterful Ghosteen at number one, and records from Lizzo, Blood Incantation, and FKA Twigs staying strong. Take a look at the rankings:
We’ve finally got an official reissue of Queens Of The Stone Age’s commercial breakthrough and arguably finest record with Songs Of The Deaf’s first legit vinyl pressing in over 15 years! Number two this week. Needless to say plenty were waiting on this one. This was a such a breath of fresh air in the popular hard-rock landscape of the early 00s, and still sounds pretty damn good today.
Also we’re happy to see the posthumous demo’s collection from long-time shop-favorite Arthur Russell grace a charts this week in the number seven slot. Iowa Dream finds the musical polyglot and dance music pioneer in introspective singer-songwriter mode way back in the mid-70s. Fans of his excellent Love Is Overtaking Me collection must sit up and take notice.
