Charts Recap: July 9th - July 15th, 2018

The Now Now has legs! After debuting at our #1 spot a few weeks back, it's been hanging around the top-ten, but this week it's back at the top! For all you Gorillaz fanatics (and just as much the folks that have never understood) here's a pretty great profile from the NY Times on their evolution from comic-book novelty to Damon Albarn's personal creative outlet.

The big debut this week was from Serpentwithfeet. If you haven't heard him yet, you should. Soil is a record of lush experimental r&b. Let me leave a video here for the uninitiated.

Parquet Courts and Rolling Blackouts are both having strong weeks. But we'd expect as much from two of the best indie-rock records of the year so far. I wouldn't be surprised if these two hang around our charts for months to come.

Down in the CD charts, Neko rules again! The only other new entrant in those charts is Lump, who in case you didn't know is Laura Marling and Mike Lindsay of Tuung, with their self-titled debut. It's a pleasing folk-tronic fusion of the two artist's styles, here's a taste.
