The cassette crusade continues! The Boom's Top 10 tapes of 2017
2017 saw yet another uptick in cassette sales according to the number crunching folks at Nielsen Music. Via The Hollywood Reporter. Last year, cassette album sales rose by 35 percent to 174,000 copies sold. In 2016, there were 129,000 sold.
Leading the charge was the soundtrack to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2. Well, that may be true nationally, but here at the BOOM, sales came from very different sources. I Used To Spend So Much Time Alone from Chastity Belt took our number one spot. The White Stripes re-issues took three spots out of the ten.
